Castlemeads industrial inspiration

My concept for Castlemeads is based on the industrial history of Gloucester docks and how this spread throughout urban centres in the 17/18th centuries. I find it interesting that castlemeads was spared this fate which took over so nearby, likely because it was difficult to access and so prone to flooding.

I want my design to be based on the hopefulness of nature reclaiming its space, as well as the shift in human aesthetic attitudes to more artistic approaches.

I went to an abandoned quarry near me to look for inspiration of materials and how they interact with their environments after so much time.
