Focal points
This was from a class exercise as a study of where they eye is drawn when it first sees a scene. The red lines represent where the vertical and horizontally dominant lines meet. At first, it is strange that the first focus is a teapot, but without realising it our eye follows the lines of the kitchen that the advert is promoting.
The orange lines represent the objects in the foreground which reach out to the viewer. the yellow boxes contain the text, which is situated in relatively empty space to demonstrate its importance. The company title aligns with the main vertical line and is placed in a calm yet eye-catching colour, and so is one of the next objects the viewer sees at first.
